Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007 by Poor Knight

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is an upcoming MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online) game based on Games Workshop’s popular tabletop game. It stands out as one of the most highly anticipated games to come out this year. Game Daily recently did an article with members of the Mythic Entertainment development team comparing the Empire and Chaos factions. Several things about the article I found very interesting - so interesting in fact that it makes me think that this could be the MMO I’ve been waiting for.

Roleplaying in Faerun 2

Monday, March 19th, 2007 by Tryke

Hey I’m back again, now that I’ve gotten away from the Chaos Gods for a second I though I’d warp back to Faerun and talk to another one of my alter egos for some tips on roleplayings in the Forgotten Realms.  Quick question, if you remember the realms you play in and I remember the realms I play in; then which of the blooming realms in Faerun are actually forgotten.  I think WotC owes us some money back for false advertising here, lying bastards.  Anyway, without further ado let me introduce you to my namesake…Tryke Dimwauld, Tiefling Wizard extrordanaire.

The world is basically pain, its just that most everyone doesn’t realize it.  I drift from time to time, age to age, the cursed blood calling and torturing me while the rest of the masses drift by in ignorance of the pain and evil around them.

To Chaos or Not to Chaos - Nurgle Me This

Monday, March 19th, 2007 by Tryke

Hello again ladies and gentlemen. Wait a minute this is warhammer I’m talking about, whats going on guys? As always, I’m Tryke and welcome back to the next installment in our series To Chaos or Not to Chaos. Today we’ll be sloshing back to the North Lands to talk to the Lord of Languish, Nurgle. But first, I’d like to thank all of you who sent condolences and flowers for the family of Gimri Whitehorn. Rest assured the flowers have been all sent back but his family would like you all to know that financial donations have been used to name an ale keg in his honor. On a related note, we are still actively interviewing applicants to fill the position of the late Gimri and we hope to have the position filled within the week; if we get any applicants. In the interim, we’ve managed to procure the services of the mighty Tyrion this week who will ensure that the Baron of Bile keeps his hand off of yours truly. So, without further ado, get those sanitary masks and lets zip off to Nurgle land.

What Good is Armor in Dungeons and Dragons?

Monday, March 19th, 2007 by Poor Knight

This debate has cropped up on several occasions within our gaming group. The core of the debate is that heavy and medium armors in D&D are not very optimal. You can have just as good an armor class as a light armor wearing, high dexterity having character. This type of character also benefits from other aspects as well, such as no reduced movement, lower armor check penalties, and the ability to use feats like spring attack.
